We all love our hair, don’t we?  As it is said,“Rome was not built in a day”, in the same way, a lot of care for years is required to get shinning long hair. People have different types of hair depending on the climate of the place they live in and according to the food they eat or on their genetic nature. There are many other factors which affect the growth of your hair.

Some of the factors that give rise to thinning hair are stress, hormonal imbalances, nutritional deficiencies, pollution, allergies, use of wrong hair care products, poor hair care routine, and heredity.

If you face thinning hair, there is absolutely no need to spend money on expensive hair care treatments. There are many home or natural remedies to get voluminous and thick hair. Here are 9 ways to help your hair grow.

1.   Eggs

Egg is one of the best remedy when it comes to providing the necessary proteins for your hair. It is very important to give regular protein treatment to your hair in order to make them smooth and strong.

  • Take one or two eggs, depending on the length of your hair, and beat it properly. Apply the beaten egg on wet hair and let it stay for about 30 minutes. Rinse your hair with lukewarm water and wash with shampoo. You can do this protein treatment once or twice a week.
  • Another option to use egg for the hair is to mix together one egg yolk, one tablespoon of hair oil and two tablespoons of water. Massage this mixture on your scalp thoroughly for thicker hair.


2.   Onion paste

Onion juice is one of the best and oldest remedies to trigger a good hair growth. The sulphur present in it does not only intensify the growth of the strands, but also helps in their re-growth.

Squash some juice out of the red onions or shallots, and apply it to your hair for about fifteen minutes. Rinse off with a mild shampoo after 1-2 hours.


3.   Indian Gooseberry(amla) powder and lime juice

Blend of Indian gooseberry powder and lemon juice can be applied to the hair to help it grow stronger and have a fuller appearance. 

  • Combine 1 tablespoon, Indian gooseberry powder with the juice of one lemon and shake to liquefy the powder. 
  • Gently massage the mixture onto the roots of the hair and scalp and leave it on for 20 minutes and rinse your hair following by shampooing. 


4.   Healthy Diet

A diet which is ample in protein, minerals and vitamins, is a necessary requisite that will help you get thick and wholesome hair. In particular vitamins and proteins can also help to promote longer and thicker hair. Therefore, you should increase your daily consumption of yogurt as it contains higher level of protein, fresh green veggies, whole grains, seeds, poultry, legumes, nuts, fatty fish, milk, and beans in your diet.


5.   Aloe Vera

One of the most efficient ingredients that will help provide you with thicker hair is Aloe Vera. The Aloe Vera gel is a natural ingredient that has many health benefits and helps to improve the thickness of the hair.

  • Take two or three Aloe Vera leaves and extract the gel from these leaves and apply it on to the scalp. Leave this gel on your scalp for half an hour. Rinse it off with lukewarm water thoroughly.
  • Having a tablespoon of Aloe Vera juice every day on an empty stomach will also help in improving hair growth


6.   Fenugreek Seeds

Fenugreek seeds can also be used to prevent hair fall and enjoy better hair growth.

  • Soak two to three tablespoons of fenugreek seeds in water for eight to ten hours. Crush the soaked seeds to make a fine pulp. You can also blend two teaspoons of coconut milk in it. Apply the paste on your hair and scalp and leave it for about 30 minutes before rinsing with lukewarm water. If done weekly on a regularly, this remedy will prevent dry scalp and help you get thicker hair.
  • Another alternative is to use the water in which the fenugreek seeds were soaked in overnight as a hair rinse. This will support hair growth and help you to get rid of dandruff.


7.   Olive Oil

Olive oil contains omega three fatty acids which helps in hair growth. Using olive oil to massage your scalp and adding it to your diet will help you get thicker hair.

  • At least 3 hours before going to bath, apply olive oil on your hair and massage using your fingertips. Followed by washing your hair with a mild shampoo.
  • You can also apply olive oil on your hair before going to bed at night and can wash your hair the next morning.
  • You can also blend olive oil with honey and apply this mixture on your hair and wash it off after an hour to get soft and strong hair.


8.   Heena leaves

Another tip on how to have thicker hair in one month’s time is by using henna leaves. Henna leaf will make your hair soft, thick, less vulnerable to breakage and well provide you with rich natural color. There are two ways for you to make use of this leaf for nourishing hair:

  • You just need to mix henna powder with water to make a paste with good consistency. Keep the heena paste aside overnight. The next day, add 2 teaspoons of lemon juice and egg to this mixture. Apply the mixture on our scalp and keep until dries. Rinse your hair and shampoo usual.
  • Another way to use heena leaves is by taking a handful of heena leaves add water and make a paste apply it to your hair and cover your hair with a towel or a hair shower cap. After about 2 – 3 hours, wash your hair and shampoo.

 Note-You have to make sure of using gloves or brush to avoid staining.


9.   Flax Seeds

Flax seeds are not only a very healthy ingredient but also helps in hair thickness. Flaxseeds contain fatty acids that thickens the hair naturally

  • Take three tablespoons of flax seeds in a bowl full with water and leave it for 5 days. With help of a cotton ball apply the flax seeds solution directly to your scalp.
  • Let it remain for there for ten minutes and then wash it off with warm water. You can also directly eat a teaspoon of flax seed oil or ground flaxseeds every day to enjoy thick and shiny hair.
